Enjoy the Enchanting Geneva Christmas Markets

December sees Geneva’s beautiful Parc des Bastions transformed into an enchanting Christmas Market, popular with locals and visitors alike. Spend time strolling through the varied market stalls and discover locally crafted products, seasonal trinkets and other wonderful surprises. Many are edible, and with mulled wine in hand, the bewitching scents will guide you between lobster rolls, strudel, fondue and raclette to share with family and friends.

For those in search of some cultural history this festive season, make sure to attend the famous annual Fête de L’Escalade (6-8 December 2019) where Genevans celebrate the 1602 victory over the Duke of Savoy. With colourful processions, period costumes, musket firings and age-old traditions including the smashing of the chocolate cauldron (marmite en chocolat)- this is certainly one not to be missed!
